Maintenance

JB’s offers roof maintenance producers like light-duty repairs, presser washing, caulking, ultraviolet treatments & roof material conditioning treatments.

RV roofs should be inspected several times during the camping season. JB’s suggest visually checking your roof at least 3-times a year/ season. (The inspection) You, the customer, can perform this yourself for the most part, and save hundreds of dollars! By visually looking over your roof/ or you can have someone who is physically able/ look over the roof for any sticks, or any other debris that has fallen onto the roof and remove it. The roof should be washed with mild soap(D. dish soap), and then check the sealant for signs of water intrusion into the roofing material. Once the roof has been cleaned, the caulking can be applied as needed. JB’s also suggest washing your RV roof 1 or 2 times a year: One of which should be a presser washing because this is essential for proper caulk adhesion of the roof membrane.

Roof, Wash, & Seal package & Roof Repairs

JB’s offers a 10% discounted Roof, Wash, & Seal package. This package includes full presser washing of the roof to remove all old dirt, mud, or what ever! This process will also help reduce staining from tree tannins, pine pitch, and bird matter! JB’s uses all biodegradable cleaning products to comply with campgrounds, watersheds, and floral concerns; although, proper preparation before services can reduce any plant, flower, pet, wildlife, or property damage. (feeders, vehicles, hanging plats/ flowers, rugs, furniture, etc…) RV owners are responsible for all rules, regulations, and or guidelines form campgrounds, watersheds, or any other municipality in regards to water usage, hours of operation, permissions, etc…before and during the service process. After presser washing the roof, a brush is used to lightly scrub the roofing membrane and all the roof accessories. (I.E. vents, skylights, AC unit, etc…)The roof is thoroughly rinsed, the roof membrane is conditioned, and then roof is U/V treated for longevity. If any repairs are needed, they will be made at this point. Full caulking of all joints, seals, vents, etc with the proper products to meet the RV roof membrane specifications. This is a very thorough, labor intensive, and timely procedure, that take 2-3 hours to preform(or more). Most repairs & caulking can not be done with-out aggressive cleaning to the roofing material. Estimates are only accurate if a pre-inspection of the RV is preformed by JB’s to determine the condition of the roof, confirm if any parts are needed, and to identify all the correct roof supplies that may be needed. JB’s Roof, Wash, & Seal package can be good for up to 2 years, but light washing & inspections are suggested during the camping season to insure water integrity of the RV roof. The location of an RV may require one or more washings a year; thus, factors such as the sun, tree saps, nuts, and wildlife may require a more aggressive time line.

Oh ya, The Plus!…JB’s will also presser wash & scrub the exterior of your RV, including the slide-outs, as part of your Roof, Wash, & Seal package to prevent staining of the exterior from the roof cleaning run-off.

We also repair/ replace broken awning hardware, replace old, worn-out, or torn awning fabrics, and we can replace or install a brand new awning on your RV, out-building, or home. Full Roof Replacements

The RV roof is the vital barrier against the harsh elements of mother nature or Murphy’s Law! Rubber roof membranes break down over time, and will start to deteriorate fast due to lack of maintenance or unrepaired damage to the roof. If the roofing membrane becomes compromised, the roof decking under the membrane will be saturated with water. Water soaking into the roof decking will swell wood, distort the roof surface, and become a soft spot on the roof because moister can not escape; thus, allowing water to soak into the ceiling, installation, and the wall paneling. Moisture will surly cause mold, mildew, & water staining through out the RV with delamination of ceiling & wall paneling.(Health concern) Worse case roof leaks can also cause major damage the electrical system, sub flooring, slide-out flooring, appliances…..Yes, The sky is the limit!

JB’s specializes in full and complete roof replacement for customers in-need of more than a Roof, Wash, & Seal package.

JB’s estimate standards for a full RV roof replacement:

JB’s replaces ALL RV roof membranes with Polyvinyl Chloride or (PVC) membrane. PVC roof membranes are almost 3 times as thick as the rubber roof equivalent, and PVC is also highly reflective of the sun’s Ultra Violet rays.

JB’s will remove all water damaged wood. (Roof tresses, structural framing, and the roof decking) In addition to replacing all the damaged roof decking, JB’s will increase the thickness of the deck when ever possible as most RV roofs are a little disconcerting to say the least!!! Walking on your RV roof is essential to preserving your new investment, and feeling stable after stepping off a ladder is priceless! The Plus!

JB’s will replace all vents, antennas, and skylights with new parts. Instead of the old dealer trick of reusing all the old parts if possible. Both the front & rear transition rails are also replaced with new metal extrusion rails. The air conditioner is removed for cleaning, servicing, full electrical testing, and a new roof gasket is installed before reinstalling the ac unit to the new roof. All roof accessories are sealed with PVC friendly caulk.

JB’s will preform 2 free roof inspections including travel fees.(One a Year/ for 2 Years)
